FOREVER AUCKLAND FC tells the incredible story of the once-in-a-generation birth of a new professional football team, Auckland FC, and their epic first season competing in Australia’s elite A-League. 

But going from zero to heroes doesn’t come easy.

Narration is provided directly by the billionaire club owners, the coaches, the fans and the players themselves, telling their own stories and taking the audience on a journey right here and now. 

From painful injuries to moments of high drama and comedy, the series takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Innovative hybrid shooting techniques, including the use of embedded filmmakers and social media-style content, places the audience alongside the characters at every step of the way, giving viewers a deep connection to the characters who drive the story.  

Unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, including on the plane and bus to games, in the dressing room and in the dugout, gives the audience a never-before-seen view of elite sport in New Zealand, while the use of use of microphones on the coaches helps transport viewers directly into the action.  

The football itself provides the crossover point for all our stories, with the unfolding drama of the season providing a chronological narrative spine for the docuseries.   

Matchdays provide both highs and lows, but the focus will always remain on the players themselves, and their wider support networks – the coaches, families and fans who devote themselves to the players and the team.
